Heroes Haven
1. What inspired you to write your book? I had this
intense vision of this world Heroes Haven, and these characters that mulled
over in my subconscious, screaming to come out onto the page.
2. What is it about? In the dark shadows, a secret society is stealing a new drug to test on death row inmates and create immortal super soldiers. As the power of this secret society grows, imminent danger of tyranny and oppression now face the entire human race. The battle begins to control the drug that will create a new world order
3. What do you hope will be the everlasting thoughts for readers who finish your book? I hope to connect to people through these characters, to inspire the readers to look deeper into themselves, and to “awaken your inner hero”.
4. What advice do you have for writers? Listen to the voice of your characters, and don’t write within a box. Allow the story you want to tell to unfold before you, where you take the ride and not work backwards to fit it into what others tell you it should be.
5. Where do you think the book publishing industry is heading? I think books will always be important to society. Our need to relate stories to others, whether it’s carved on a cave wall, quilled on a parchment or downloaded onto an iPad; the industry can shift a million times over but good story telling and characters will live on to the end of time.
6. What challenges did you have in writing your book? Aside from the challenge of not going through a traditional publisher, and financing my own small press publishing house, the biggest challenge was staring at blank pages and bringing a world and characters to life that would transcend to readers.
7. If people can only buy one book this month, why should it be yours? I have worked hard and intensely to create a level of detail and emotion, with a style of poetry and paintings that I would hope to be worthy of the time of the most discerning reader, literally to the point that I feel I bled my emotions into this book so it would connect and speak to the audience.
